1. Overview

This document explains how to use the Audit log. The Audit log is a record of all changes in the system and is useful in tracking all changes to the system, including authorized changes, as well as errors and unauthorized activities. It is searchable by all end users.

2. Audit Log location and Filters

2.1. Location

The audit log is located under Settings > Audit log

2.2. Filters

There are 9 data fields that give information. The first, date, is necessary to populate the fields. An additional 4 fields can be modified to use as filters of the information. This subsection will explain these 5 changeable fields.

2.2.1. Date

The audit log is populated by specifying a date range to view historical data. To use, enter the start and end date and click Filter. To show today's activities, select a date and time past the current time and filter.

2.2.2. Revised By

REVISED BY is used to filter activities by user or process. For example, if you want to track Bob Johnson’s changes in a specified date range, you’d specify the date first, as in the previous step, and type Bob’s login email in the REVISED BY field.

2.2.3. Action

ACTION can by used to further filter the data into the 3 types of general actions that can take place in the system:

· Created

· Modified

· Deleted

It can also be left on ALL to not filter.

2.2.4. Entity

ENTITY lists the entity, or object in the system that was affected. For example, did this Action of Created (Step 2.2.3) affect the Deal? The Application? User, Bounce Fee, Merchant, ACH mapping, etc.? All of these changeable objects are referred to as entities. Selecting one of these entities will further refine the search.

2.2.5. Key

The KEY refers to the alphanumeric code of the Deal or Application. So, for example: If the search pulls up a Note added by Bob onto a Deal with Key N-1002-APX-B01, you can go to the deals list under MCA DEALS, and search for the deal under DEAL ID. You can click open the deal and then navigate to the Notes tab to see all the notes on that deal. The notes there are searchable by date and created by as well.

2.3. Changes

Details of all entries made to the system are listed here under CHANGES. Some information is made to be read by end users, while other information is more technical and will need assistance from the MCA support team to understand.

2.4. Conclusion

This document explained how to use the Audit log. The Audit log is a record of all changes in the system and is useful in tracking all changes to the system, whether authorized or unauthorized, as well as errors.
