To add a custom field, click add on the top right. Enter the Field name, or mapping code, add a description of what the field does, and add the actual calculation script. The script is shown below, in step 3d.
To test a custom field, add the custom field code to an application or deal document template, save and upload it. Then come back to Doc. Template fields, Custom Formula fields, and click the green arrow next to your custom field entry in the custom field list. The Test Custom Field box appears. Find a deal or application you can test the calculation formula on and enter the number of the deal or application. Click Test, and the correct answer will appear. Check that the number or text response is correct and there are no errors.
The formula prompt is as follows:
Look at the entered instructions that contain codes and create the formula based on the following script:
import java.math.BigDecimal import java.math.RoundingMode import java.text.SimpleDateFormat import java.time.LocalDate import java.time.LocalDateTime import java.time.format.DateTimeFormatter
def execute(map) { return $[formula] }
def convertNumeric(String str) { return new BigDecimal(str.replace(",", "")).doubleValue()
}
def formatNumber(Double value, int precision) { return new BigDecimal(value).setScale(precision, RoundingMode.HALF_UP).toString() }
for example: formatNumber(convertNumeric(map['BankFee'])*3,2)
You are not supposed to modify any script code.
The list of fields above was created for a specific customer based on their document needs. For example, their APR is calculated a specific way and the code needed to be adjusted to match the formula. You can mix and match the codes to create new calculations and combinations using math and a tiny bit of coding or by using our ChatGPT helper : (Note that ChatGPT can make mistakes. Check important info.) This is much more advanced than a basic user will need, but power users of SmartMCA can learn the system to create all kinds of useful calculations. You can also contact SmartMCA support for help.
